Game Freak's third set of remakes, which follow in the footsteps of Fire Red and Leaf Green on the Game Boy Advance and Heart Gold and Soul Silver on the Nintendo DS, bring the series back to its somewhat awkward adolescent-the period between when it was a full-blown fad and when it evolved into something more mature and sustainable.
